Kurt offers some lyrics to a potential theme song for this game :)

SPINTIRES: THE HILL 04 - DANGEROUS MOOSE SOUNDS

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ku0iZnk7kI

Kurt unlocks an achievement for the first time in this game. It's a surprise and a shock to see because he's stuck on the hillside. Must've been an update thing.

SPINTIRES THE HILL 03 - STEEP HILL HANGER

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ST5fhgbAeM

Kurt talks about how his Spintires videos are among his most popular. People seem to like watching him go through aggravation and stress!

Wow, the sunset looks gorgeous. Was that in the game before? I know it was nice but it's been a bit of a while since I last watched one of these...

Sunrise is lovely too. Poor Kurt gets stuck but manages to pull himself out... or at least, that's what I was hoping. There's the big steep hill, the mud and all those trees involved. It's not quite a cliffhanger but it sounds better than a steep-hill-hanger! Hopefully he'll be able to get out of this...

SPINTIRES THE HILL 02 - STEAM ONLY

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edkj6DMpkSI

Kurt relays a nasty experience he had where he couldn't play the game because Steam was down. Online only DRM...

Ah, a river crossing! I remember those from previous episodes in this series. Some victories and some tragedies...

Kurt makes some good progress and hopes there are no more problems with Steam or updates in the meantime!

SPINTIRES: THE HILL 01 - PHOENIX SPOOKED BY HORN INTO REBIRTH

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38lhbLDocFU

Kurt returns to SpinTires! It went though an update and something happened to his save game unfortunately, but he's back in action again!

Offroading is perilous, but not as much as tutorial text boxes! That's the first obstacle he has to deal with.

Wow, that winding road on the steep hill looks treacherous! The first person view on this vehicle is really high up too. Kurt notices some new things like birds getting spooked by beeping horns.

Later when he tumbles, he beeps to try to send the birds away for help! Funny stuff :)

SpinTires #45

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KaFhRN3al8

Kurt struggles with the fuel tank over some slightly muddy roads and reveals some of the cloaking.

Driving into the night, he comes across a cabin. Later, he tries to navigate his way to a certain point. Next, he uses the river to help him along his way.

This session with the steering wheel seems to add something to the game for him. Hopefully, it'll continue to be fun.

SpinTires #44

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_yaRdABFyA

Happy Christmas everyone! Nice timing too for the prodigal series to return!

Kurt returns to this game which is now newly updated with steering wheel support.

He starts a fresh game on The Hill map. He loads up a fuel tanker and makes his way.

He's getting along pretty well here. No massive rocks or mud puddles. Good to see him back with this :)

SpinTires #43

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2DCuO7vXaA

Kurt hopes to wrap up the river map with this episode. He starts another lumber delivery in the dark of night.

Again it involves crossing the river! He gets stuck and takes a lot of damage but thanks to the current he's still able to get up on the island. He then decides to bring another truck out to it for repairs, which he does successfully. The repair truck has a much easier time to cross as the spot is much more shallow. The repaired truck now continues on but gets stuck again shortly afterwards so Kurt has to do a jump cut to a part where he has the river crossed. Finding a safe route must be like looking for a light switch in the dark...

We rejoin Kurt at the other side at last. He went through quite the ordeal but he's finally on his way to making the final delivery! He hums the Hawaii Five-O theme happily and reflects on the various misadventures he had during this map. He says how he may wait until the next update to play again. It'll be quite a long time away.

Until then I'll miss this series and I'll also miss wondering what the heck is the story behind those abandoned apartments by the river.

SpinTires #42

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDLz7DLogxc

It's been a while! We join Kurt on a new day and a new session. He talks about planned updates to the game, including the multiplayer saving he wanted so it's good times ahead.

He begins by doing another lumber delivery, which involves another river crossing... and it never fails to be nail bitingly tense. He struggles to get the truck across to the island but it's very troublesome. He has a better time making it the rest of the way to the other side but it's still troublesome.

Now that he's out of the water he has to deal with a big muddy patch, which lasts well into the evening with its own struggles.

It's nighttime when he finally delivers his lumber and he unloads it with exhaustion.

SpinTires #41

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yK1-iSCQgk

We join Kurt as he successfully drives the old blue truck through the mud puddle and back to the garage for its retirement. It's nighttime and the crickets are chirping.

Kurt switches to a pink truck and puts a trailer on to it. His plan is to go to a different lumber yard. He makes his way there along the highway, the two trucks stuck in the river still on his mind.

This lumber yard is much like the other one from before with a little portable cabin and a street light. Kurt loads up some short logs and plots his way to the delivery point.

Once again he wishes for saving in online multiplayer when he talks about updates to the game. I wonder if any updates happened in the past year since the video came out? Along the way, he stops for fuel.

Before he drops off his delivery, Kurt's phone starts ringing with its Homer Simpson "D'oh!" montage. Don't they know he's working? :)

Now it's rescue time! Kurt plans it out as the sun rises. He goes back to the previous truck with which he delivered the first big load of lumber and puts a utility attachment onto it. Now it's off to go rescue the two trucks stuck in the river. He makes his way to the riverside by the abandoned apartments and crosses to the first island.

Kurt imagines people living in the apartments looking out their windows to see what's going on while living in luxury. Imagine if people actually did live there? I can't stop thinking about these apartments.

Crossing to the next island, Rescuer Kurt positions his truck near the second submerged truck and prepares to save it. It's a long and tense process...

Unfortunately his rescue truck tips over and joins the submerged truck. Aw...

Kurt decides to warp the first truck back to the garage. He drives it out and it gets stuck in a big mud puddle so he has to warp it back again. All he can do is laugh! Taking a detour he gets stuck in some trees and warps the truck back a third time.

The day ends as Kurt puts a different attachment on and drives away. He says he's not gonna look at the comments for the video. The poor guy... At least he got to deliver more lumber successfully.

SpinTires #40

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuZIWGb78Yk

We join Lumberjack Kurt on the highway with a trailer full of logs at night. He talks about the truck that's still stuck in the river. He hasn't forgotten about it at least!

Part of the trail takes place off-road so he approaches that nervously but it's not too bad or muddy. He manages to make his delivery at a place with a little shelter.

As he drives away he talks about doing the rescue of the submerged truck. He pulls into a garage and switches to the capable looking truck and plans out the big rescue mission while the sun rises.

He reaches the riverbank just outside the abandoned apartment complex and crosses to the island. He talks about how he'd like an update to the game that has saving in the online multi-player mode.

He crosses downstream to another island and the water here flows pretty high. He pulls through easily though. However, after another crossing attempt he gets stuck with this truck as well! D'oh! Aw... such a shame and it was the strongest looking truck too. :/

He switches all the way back to the blue truck to drive it back to the garage. The path back is dry but is a bit tough and rocky for this truck to traverse. He comes to the very muddy road and crosses it instead of driving along. It doesn't look like this blue truck can take much at all... it even has trouble driving through very small shrubs.

Passing by the old outhouse from a number of episodes ago, Kurt remembers it and calls out "Still in there?" jokingly :)

Much struggling ensues as Kurt tries to detour around the bad muddy road. It takes long into the evening and the sun sets. The garage is in sight now! Just the massive patch of mud to get through. The video fades out as he bravely starts driving through it all.

SpinTires #39

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt8E6XJDAw8

When we last left Kurt he got catastrophically stuck in the river with a big trailer. But with a new dawn comes a new hope so he employs another truck with a fuel tank to fill up the empty capable looking truck we found in a previous episode with the eventual goal of fishing it out. Whew! Let's get started!

Kurt travels along the smooth road nicely with the fuel tank. This road even has streetlights! We're finding all kinds of weird bits of civilization on this map, especially that apartment block in the last episode that is mysterious enough to inspire fan-theories as to what happened in this area years ago.

Kurt stops at a fuel depot to fill his tank and continues on the road afterwards. It's a nice sunny day and it isn't long before he finds the fuel-less vehicle.

Finally, a chance to control this powerful machine! The apparent disadvantage it has though is its steering. Kurt drives along for a while before deciding to switch back to another truck.

The idea is to go to the garage to carry another large trailer in order to unlock another garage. He puts on highway wheels since we're not going off-road with this one.

As he pulls in to this garage he has to deal with the big mud puddle in front of it and has a moment of regret on the earlier tyre decision. He has a bit of an awkward time but gets some momentum going and triumphs! The huge trailer delivery unlocks this garage and on to the next task!

He decides to go back to the fuel truck to bring it to the garage and accidentally drives past it. He turns around though and heads back to the garage through the same bad muddy patch at the entrance.

Sun is setting now as he unloads the fuel cistern and prepares a trailer for log carrying. The dark of night comes as he drives out of the garage and towards the suspicious looking lumber yard on the map.

Pretty dark and muddy here in the lumber yard at night where all there is to be seen are logs and a portable cabin (used as a little office maybe?). Lumberjack Kurt loads up quite a lot and heads back out to the street-lit highway, out to make his big delivery!

But what of the poor truck trapped in the river? Guess we'll find out in a future episode.

SpinTires #38

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6pvx8EGFLQ

We join Kurt as he sets out to decloak the last remaining hidden spot on the map which seems to be tucked away on an island in the river. Along the road he comes across a massive urban looking apartment complex which looks post apocalyptic and abandoned. It does look really out of place. Weird!

The explore river achievement is eventually unlocked easily as it's straight across from the weird building. He then plans out his next step...

As he runs over the foliage he adds his own sound effects "Crunch!" as he goes over his plans for carrying lumber, going back to the left side of the map(where he started).

The menu's font reminds me of the Geneva font on old Macintosh computers but doesn't look exactly like it.

As he drives over some mushrooms he declares himself not a "fun-guy" and goes on a mushroom tangent, talking about how he likes them as a topping but not as a big massive thing in a salad or burger. He talks more about like-it or hate-it polarising food as he drives through the river at night.

As for me I share this opinion. Nice small mushrooms can be tasty as long as they're cooked right. An entire mushroom burger? Eesh!

He goes on to carry a bigger load and ventures out to unlock the garages he decloaked.

Things get tense when he carries the big load through the river in the dead of night and... it doesn't turn out so pretty... Glub glub indeed!

Spintires #37

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZFEoJVkuvg

Today Kurt explores more of the area to remove the dark cloaking from the map and hopes to find garages and more vehicles.

We join our intrepid explorer as he gets stuck in a mud hole until beyond sunset. The game seems to have so much atmosphere that at one stage he thinks he heard something.

He jump cuts to after the mud hole and talks about his gnat pest solution using apple cider vinegar and dishwater liquid. Pretty interesting. He also unlocks some kind of driver achievement for some reason.

Other curiosities he finds are other garages, one very capable looking vehicle which doesn't have any fuel and an outhouse near a cabin. Yes, imagine being in there while a big truck is offroading outside!

Just one more cloak to uncover by the episode's end which will be saved for next time! Could be dangerous as it's in the middle of the river.
